The National Diabetes Education Program's Quarterly Webinar Series explores the latest advances and challenges in diabetes prevention and management. Webinars are designed to support the efforts of NDEP partners who are working to improve diabetes treatment and outcomes, promote early diagnosis, and prevent or delay the onset of type 2 diabetes. Participants will have a chance to interact with presenters through a moderated question and answer session and learn about related educational tools and campaigns offered by NDEP.

Diet Counseling for People with Diabetes and Kidney Disease

Presenters: Andrew Narva, M.D., F.A.C.P., F.A.S.N., Director of the National Kidney Disease Education Program at the National Institutes of Health.
Webinar Overview: Many health care professionals, including dietitians, are uncomfortable addressing the kidney complications of diabetes. This webinar will demystify the assessment, monitoring, and management of diabetic kidney disease and describe clinical tools, which are intended to assist dietitians in counseling people with diabetes and kidney disease.
Cost: This webinar is free for all NDEP partners and members of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics' Diabetes Care and Education (DCE) Practice Group.
CE Availability: Registered Dietitians are eligible to receive 1 CPEU, Level 2 from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Individuals who are not eligible for CPEUs can request a certificate of completion from the NDEP after the webinar.
